And now I finally am.
Things have been crazy. It's slowing down now, but it was hell the last couple of weeks. The fact that I get to sleep in tomorrow is AMAZING to me.
The week before last I was getting ready for finals. I also had or just had a job interview with Chippens Hill Vet in Bristol. It was weird how I found about the job....I was searching for Vet job postings and was coming up with nada for anywhere around here, so I just started searching for Vet clinics and emailing them asking if they were hiring. So as you could have guessed it, Chippens Hill responded and I went for an interview after a while. It went really well, to say the least.
Last week was finals week. I had 4 finals and a lab practical. They spanned the entire week, and they were brutal. But I got through them. I also had to go for a drug test for Chippens Hill, which I passed of course. :) I also managed to just scrape by in Anatomy & Physiology and Pharmacology with C's. Yay! I also got and A- in Small Animal, a B in Small Animal Lab, and A's in Large Animal Lecture and Lab.
Next semester I'm taking Anesthesia & Surgical Nursing, Vet Lab Procedures, Radiology, Periodontology, and German I (elective). Yeah, I'll probably explode by the middle of the semester.
Last weekend was the Mini Magestry event. It went well. But very tiring. Probably gonna have another one in about 6 months. WHEEEE :p
This week I worked my last days at Panera Bread (aww, so sad). Actually, they were genuinely sad to see me go. The general manager even said I am always welcome back. So here's to not burning bridges!
I helped Sean with his boffer orders this week, and just found out today that my first day at Chippens Hill Vet is next Tuesday! YAAAYS! They're starting me at $10 and hour. Sweet. Deal.
Now, I'm getting ready for Magestry this weekend. I've pretty much got everything set already, except for the stuff Sean is bringing me and laundry. It's gonna be so great, I can't wait.

I am seriously about fed up with the Pharmacology class. I think everyone in there is. Oh, except of course for the one Medical Assisting student who is the ONLY one to get A's in that class. Could it be because she works in a medical office and has nothing else to do but study? Nah, couldn't be.
This class is driving me up the walls. I studied for 4 hours last night, and another hour before the exam we just had for Pharmacology. The quizzes we have taken have all been pretty much the same, they're on the different drugs for each body system (gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, urinary, ect.). But that's the ONLY thing they're on.....the drugs! She literally expects us to memorize all the drugs that are used to treat diseases or complications with each body system, drugs that we've never even heard of or seen.....just read in the book...and then regurgitate the names onto the quiz/test.
Does anyone have any idea just how many drugs there are out there for different things? Or that the same drugs can be used to treat different body systems? HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER ALL THOSE NAMES?! I don't have a freakin drug index in my brain that I can just flip through and get the answers from!
Not only this, but the class is being taught by a new instructor that just started this year, she is a veterinarian, she doesn't know us AT ALL, and doesn't even try to understand the fact that we are students....NOT doctors!! We have not worked with these drugs....and most of us haven't even stepped foot into a vet clinic! Also...in the real world...we would never have to remember thse drugs or what they do, because one of the big rules for Vet Techs is that WE DO NOT PRESCRIBE DRUGS! The vet tells us what to dispense, and we do it! End of story!
Oh...and a little pet peeve we have with her....is that she talks through her teeth, she never unclenches her jaw when she's speaking...HOLY CRAP. It is so distracting that I can't look at her when she's giving a lecture. And about the lectures....she has powerpoints and she reads them verbatim from the screen. You could send us home with the powerpoint printout and we would learn just as mich, maybe even more because it is not being read in her monotone voice!
Ugh....I'm sorry. There were a lot of exclamation points in there...but that's exactly how I feel. She makes my blood boil. And I thought I was the only one....but apparently nearly everyone I talked to feels the same way.
The last quiz we took....except for the one MA student....the majority of the grades were in the 40-60 range. That's GOT to say something about her teaching methods. There was one person who got a 95 just from guessing. I guessed on just about everything and I ended up with a 65....and I told her she was a better guesser than me. :P
I don't know....I hope that this is just another case like with Dr. Engwall, and after thsi she will realize that we cannot retain all this information at once. You see.....if the quiz had been something like "what do Antisialogues prevent?" Or "How do H-2 Blockers prevent gastric ulcers from occuring?" It would have been FINE. We can do that stuff. But you ask me something like "what specific drug is used as an emetic but is not recommended for use in cats?" And I have a list of drug names in my head, but can't remember which one does what.
Eh....I'm done bitching for now. I could go on about the condiscending lab helper for our Small Animal class as well....but unless you were there it wouldn't make sense.
I gotta go "study" a new drug list for Cardiovascular drugs anyway.

I was doing really good with trying to lose weight. I was happy with myself that I lost like 5 lbs. Then one party, lots of alcohol, and a few slices of pizza later.....I got it ALL back. I seriously have no self control.
SON OF A BITCH.
I just got a new workout video in the mail, I tried it this morning and it was really fun. I've been eating half as much as I usually do (while still feeling full), and that's been helping. The weight's going down again. I just hate this rollercoaster shit. I also ordered something else today, and we'll see how that helps when it gets here.
Luck is needed.

So I can't help but search for diet tips on the interwebz. I can't remember everything I read anyway. And I come across some sites that are "pro ana"...short for 'anorexia'. WHAT THE FUCK??? These people have issues. Serious ones. They put skeletons on a freakin pedestal. People with nothing but skin and bones. Disgusting I tell you.....it literally made me nauseous.
Anyways....I've started keeping a 'food diary' of sorts. Even after a few days, I'm starting to see some trends I didn't notice before. I'm keeping track of everything I ate that day, as well as my weight at certain times of the day, and I started putting my measurements in there, too. Those numbers aren't pretty, let me tell you. I can't wait to see those go down. And you guys are being a pretty good inspiration to me as well. Good to know that a lot of you want to see a thinner Lex in March, lol. But mostly I'm going for a healthier one.
I definitely need to start eating breakfast. I'm always so freakin hungry by the time I get to eat in the middle of the day, that I eat like a horse. Little meals throughout the day are the way to go, so it seems. I just need to start giving myself some time to eat in the morning, instead of waking up just in time to get dressed and leave. I also need to get some foods that are easier to just grab and eat....fruit and granola bars and whatnot. We seem to be devoid of those here.
I started excercising today, just a few little things I could fit in. We'll see how long I can keep that up. BUT....I found out that I can still do 50 crunches in a row, so that was cool. I can work up from there.
Well, I could go on about this, but I'll stop here. I'll try to update on how good I'm doing, like at the end of the week or something. Probably more. And keep the comments and advice coming, it really seems to be helping me. :)

I am seriously in a weird mood right now. Maybe it's all the green tea.
I'm trying to put myself on a diet again. We'll see how that goes. I actually want to fit into my Magestry costume in March, so I hope a month is long enough to do so. 165 is not looking good on me right now. Especially because it's 20 lbs over the normal limit for my height and age.....which is 145. I feel disgusting just thinking about it.
So....I went to Price Chopper last night and got all this green tea stuff, like from Mega-T. It has worked before, so I got a combination of things. Some pills, some drops to add to drinks, and gum. The pills have Hoodia in them, so we'll see how well this "african wonder plant" actually works.
Since going to the gym is basically out of the question with my school/work/homework schedule, I'm going to have to rely on sit-ups and running around while playing Airsoft. I used to be able to do between 50 and 75 sit-ups....well actually they're crunches. Last time I tried I could barely make it past 20. My exercise ball workout video got boring real fast...it's hard for me to do the same thing 3 times a week. I need variety. And I actually hated the gym because it felt like everyone was staring at me....and I don't like it when people watch me workout. And I'm not exactly looking for muscles anyway. Aaaand it's too cold right now to go jogging, not to mention dangerous considering where I live (right down the street from "plywood apartments" = BAD neighborhood), and of course nobody wants to go with me.
But I really need someone to motivate me, I just can't do it myself. Sean doesn't help because he says I look good no matter what I actually look like (no offense Dear....you're just too nice to me sometimes :P).
I have to go to work now...I'll probably write more later.
P.S. - I love Boba Fett.....I mean Sean.

I can't believe it....they actually closed the college for the whole day! This never happenes. I am so psyched.
I usually wake up at like 8am on Fridays. I did today, then called the snowline for the school and they said it was closed, so I went back to sleep until 2:30pm! Oh man, it was so nice to be able to sleep in today.
Now I can like, play video games and stuff! I haven't even played WoW since I started school again, cuz I've been so freakin busy with that and work. But I'd have to renew my WoW subscription....so I'm probably gonna stick to either Zelda or Animal Doctor on my DS. Maybe even Battlefront II or Bounty Hunter on PS2. MAYBE ALL FOUR!! Muahahahaha...
Gotta go!

I keep getting to do all these awesome things in school.
Well, some not so awesome, I guess.
Like last Friday I got to castrate a pig! Totally.
Then yesterday I drew blood from a dog. With a needle. I thought it was going to be a lot harder.
And today my new BDU's that I ordered came in. They're black camo. And they are awesome.
I also got to go for a ride with my brother today. He finally got his licence a while back, and today he drove down to Torrington in his Pathfinder, which is now fixed. He's growing up way too fast. Our dad is also going to help him get an apartment after he finishes school.
Oh....and for the record.....the Milky Way hot chocolate from Dunkin Donuts is AMAZING.

This weekend was absolutely awesome.
Friday night Sean came over after work and he had a surprise for me. I was waiting all day for it to happen. And it was well worth it! He had a whole bunch of little things planned, and they all added up to awesome sweetness. The best was the purple folder with pages inside that had pictures of me, him, and us with a poem to go along with them. It was such a sweet silly poem. We had peanut noodles to eat, and while we were eating he played a song that he had downloaded special for us. It was the song from Mr. And Mrs. Smith where they were dancing when they first met eachother and fell in love. SO SWEEEET! We drank a whole large bottle of White Zinfindel. The rest of the night was...well....we won't go there. ;)
Saturday we went to play Airsoft at the hobby store in Wolcott where he works sometimes. We usually just played small games until we had to reload and recharge, but this time Lester had planned a game with rules, and the last 3 people left alive would get a prize. Our team won, and I got one of the prizes! It was just a small bag of bio bb's, but still. It's like a little trophy.
Later that night we went to Phil and Scott's Dual Birthday Party. It was freakin awesome! I was headbutted by Jamie over a dozen times, and I've got the bruises to prove it. Sean and I got pretty drunk, I moreso than him since he had to drive, and he sobered up before we left. Lots of boffer duals outside by the bonfire. Lots of Rockband. Also smoking apple flavored tobacco out of a hookah, and eating the best sweet potatoes I have ever tasted.
After getting over my hangover and backache the next morning, Sean and I went out for dinner and a movie. We ate at Friday's, my new favorite restaurant. Then we went to see "The Eye", which we saw with Sean's 2 free movie tickets he got from work. It was a pretty good movie.
Monday morning we were supposed to wake up at 9am to go to his house and work on boffers for Magestry, but needless to say that never happened. We woke up at 1pm. I had to leave for work by 3:30, so Sean played Battlefront II and I got another book ready to be shipped out for Amazon.
Yay for awesome weekends!

Though I wish I was right now. I'm sick as hell. Headache, sore throat, stuffy nose, cramps, backache. I wanna be comatose.
And of course, just in time for V-day, or the day after. Sean's planning something for Friday...and it's scaring me. Usually I do all of the planning, and now he's got this elaborate thing going on and he won't tell me what it is. Asking me for weird things and favors. Somethings goin on here.
Other than this plague....I'm doing pretty good. School is going well, the classes are much more interesting now. I've already vaccinated a cat and a horse. Pharmacology sucks, though. I can't stand it when she talks...and that's all she does. She talks through her teeth, never unclenches them. Drives me nuts.
Work is the same as always. I got a $1.35 raise last month. I'm up to $9/hour now. Everyone there seems to be used to me, and they actually talk and joke with me. I might even have friends there, dare I say. I started working on the line, making sandwiches and such, for a few days. They say as soon as they train more cashiers that I can be over there for good. yays.
Sean is awesome. My friends are awesome. Family is awesome.
Doin pretty good right now.

I'm only doing this because a lot of people (more than usual) have been asking me what I want for Christmas this year. So here's a list of stuff that I would enjoy getting:
DVD'S:
-Pirates of the Caribbean, At World's End (Sean would like the soundtrack)
-American History X
-The new Futurama Movie
STUFF:
-A bigger cage for my pets, with like different levels and stuff.
-A PS3! lol
-Gift Cards (Hot Topic, Walmart, Cabela's, pet stores, toy stores...)
-Jewelry
-Clothes (size small shirts, don't get me pants, it's a nightmare)
-Anything to do with Zelda (but I have a lot of that stuff, so you should probably ask first)
That's all I can think of.
Other people should do this too, since I have no idea what to get people.

I have to do this thing for my Intro to Vet Tech class. It's basically a survey on what you feed your pet.
I need information on at least 6 cats and 6 dogs. And seriously, it's multiple choice. I can't really have any "I don't know" answers.
If you choose "other", please specify.
Yes, you can do this for more than one pet.
Please help me!
( Survey: Pet Food )
THANK YOU!

Not a whole hell of a lot has happened since I last posted. Or maybe yes. I don't know.
I got pulled over a total of 3 times in the course of like, 2 weeks. I didn't get any tickets or warnings (knock on wood), but it still sucked. First time was because my licence plate came back as a different car in his system. Second time I was driving Sean's van and going through an intersection that had no stop signs or lights, still getting used to driving the van after not doing so in a while, looking for a sign for route 112, and driving by myself going somewhere I haven't driven before, and apparently I was going too fast. But he was nice about it, I think because he realized I was confused and sorry. The third time was for having an air freshener on my rearview mirror.
Went to Myk's party at Meg's last Friday. It was cool. Brought the Dougler along. I'm really glad that he's gotten into all the larping stuff.
I almost had to drop my Anatomy and Physiology class. You see, I got a quiz back a while ago that was a less than acceptable grade, so I went to her to inquire as to whether or not it was even worth it to stay in the class (since 2 quizzes had no grade on them, and other scores were low like the rest of the class). I mentioned the 2 quizzes that had no grades, and she said "oh, well then their zeros". So a couple days later I brought her the withdrawal form to sign, and she says that I should stay becasue I wasn't actually doing so bad. Apparently the first 2 quizzes weren't zeros, they were an 80 and a 71. BIG friggin difference there! So I got my progress report back, and with the one dropped quiz grade, I'm not doing bad at all. I'm confident that I can pass with at least a C or better (which is what I need to move on)
I'm doing a lot better in Chemistry than I thought I was, too. Animal Care and Intro to Vet Tech are pretty much the same class..same teacher, same students, same classroom, same seats even. Both are going pretty well, too.
I can't wait for Magestry next March. It's feels like it's so far away. Probably because it is.
I gotta find a way to come up with the rest of the money for Sean's Christmas/birthday present. Need to get more people to go in on it.
Eh, that's all for now.

The weather is finally looking like it's getting cooler out. Which is good, because I was getting sick of the heat. Of course, now that I say that, it's going to be 90 tomorrow.
Last weekend was awesome as hell. Especially Sunday, which Sean and I have dubbed "The most productive Lazy day ever!"
Saturday we had to go up to his house because his mom was having dinner for Erik and Megan, since Erik just got back from...Austria I think....and of course he's getting married to Megan. Mark and his wife were there, too. Before dinner Sean fixed my car, because apparently some asshat backed into me or something and crunched my front left side, broke the light (more than it already was), and smooshed the frame up over the hood so I couldn't open it. I noticed it at last Magestry, so I have no idea when it happened. So he fixed it, and now it has clear tape over the lights and awesome duct tape around the edge of the car. As his dad said "It's 50/50....50 miles an hour, 50 feet away...it looks great!" lol
Then we had dinner and went over to Bryan's where him, Cahill, jarrett, and Erik were having a fire. It was cool, relaxing at least.
Sunday we planned to be lazy all day...since we hardly ever have time to just sit around. But we ended up going out and picking pumpkins at Bunnell's Farm in Litchfield. We carved them, I made a pirate ship and he made a skull face with the patterns that came with the carving tools. We also got ice cream (pumpkin spice ice cream in a peanut/chocolate waffle cone from Carvel = AWESOME). Then we got a call from Ian B., they wanted us to come over for another bonfire. It was cool to see them again, since we haven't gotten to since Liz started going to school.
Yesterday I got to hang out with Jessie, we walked downtown in Winsted to a pizza place. Sat on my car and talked. It was fun.
Now I have to go to work. Wah.

Summer went by so fast.
I never got to do the two things I planned on doing this year.
1. Go up to the cabin in New York and spend a weekend there with Sean.
2. Go to Six Flags.
The weather's still nice enough to do both....but there's no time. I would have liked to go to Six Flags on a weekday, so it's not as crowded, but with Sean working every day and me working and/or going to school every day, it's not gonna happen.
As for the weekends, usually they're filled up by either Magestry, Erik's upcoming wedding, Sean going to a reenactment, or other things that need to happen. And plus, my dad never took me up there to show me how to work everything and stuff.
*sigh*
At least school is going well. My classes are fairly easy, for the most part. It's the future big projects that are gonna kill me. We're finally getting through all the review and simple things of the classes, so the hard stuff is yet to come.
And money is never an easy thing for me. As you may recall, I got over $2000 for my birthday. Guess how much I have left. $200. And seriously, from the bottom of my heart, I have not spent it on stupid things. It all went to gas, food, books and other things for school, Magestry, trying to go see Combichrist with Krista (=DISASTER), and other people (bills, owed money, paying for Sean for Magestry). GONE. ALL OF IT. So, there goes the down payment for the non-existent apartment.
I'm never going to get out of this place.
